A Storm Ripped The Roof Off My House, Too!

March 5th, 2008 - Humor

A few weeks ago a tornado ripped a good portion of the roof off Caveman’s house and he was kind enough to post some photos and blog about the experience. He and his family are okay after a long hotel stay and now he’s finally back in his his home. He’s getting lots of positive comments on his blog and readers wishing him well. As a fellow blogger I naturally want him to be successful and happy and I am not at all jealous of all the attention he’s getting.

Not at all.

I mean, here I am, deliberately not writing anything on my blog for weeks in a show of solidarity for my fellow Hollywood writers and now he’s Caveman blogging every day or so even when his house is slammed by a tornado. I once didn’t write anything for a week because I had a hang nail and along comes Caveman, writing away and posting photos after he’s been kicked out of his home while they repair it. Caveman is making the rest of us lazy unified bloggers look really bad.

I have not had any readers wishing me well lately and most of my blog comments are left by people who are trying to sell me \/1agra 4 UR P E NN IS! or give me an URGENT MESSAGE FREE GIFT CARD FOR YOU via email.

Well, you know what? While you’ve all been wishing Caveman well I have to say that here in New Jersey we’ve also been hit by all sorts of atrocious storms. And you know what? These storms came through and they ripped the roof off MY house, too! And even after this experience I’m here for you readers blogging my little heart out about the awful tragedy that has befallen me. So now I want all sorts of nice comments wishing me and my family well in my time of need.

Oh, blogging about a storm ripping the roof off my house isn’t enough for you? Okay, then I’ll also have to post photos of the damage. I think the my photos and my ordeal easily match Caveman’s experience. Be prepared to be shocked by the damage that was done to my roof by a passing storm:

See? Ripped the roof clean off! Amazing!

I’m still trying to get my insurance company to put me up in a fancy hotel while they can repair the damage… We’re just happy no one was hurt during this storm.

Okay, so technically it isn’t a bird house, but really a bird feeder. Someone could still live in it. It would be the perfect home for a chipmunk who doesn’t mind living in a house made out of 360 degrees of clear plastic instead of a dark hole in tree. It would really make a lovely summer spot for an exhibitionist Smurf or Gnome.

Anyway, go let Caveman know you’re glad he’s back because he’s probably blogging about something much more important than I am.

Thinking this would be ironical, I thought I’d post a comment left for me during my ordeal that you can now have as your own. I hope this cheers you up during your time of need.
